Q: What year did you start at Edward Jones? A: I started working at Edward Jones in 2003. Q: What did you do previously? A: Previously, I worked for the Government of Canada. Q: Describe the culture at Edward Jones. A: Edward Jones is like a big family where everyone supports each other. Q: Talk a little about the support you get from the Home Office. A: Home Office is always there to assist in whatever question you may have, from simple to a very complicated problem. Q: Articulate the spirit of volunteerism that exists at Jones. How have you been involved? A: Everyone is encouraged to volunteer. I have worked with the Branch Training Team for new Financial Advisors; been a BOA Mentor and BOA Mentor Coordinator. Q: Before you came to Edward Jones, what did the name mean to you? And after you came on board? A: I was not really aware of Edward Jones prior to coming to the company. After I came to work here, I realized how it is a quiet but important part of the community in which it is located. Q: What qualities do you think a person needs to have to succeed as a BOA? A: To be a successful BOA, you must be a self-starter and be able to work independently. You also must be able to multi-task and be a good communicator. You must like people! Q: What keeps you at Edward Jones? A: I enjoy the people at Edward Jones, both employees and clients. Q: As you go through your daily activities, how do you know you’ve achieved success at Edward Jones? A: Success shows on the faces and in the voices of our happy clients. Q: What is it like to work in a two-person office? A: A two-person office is quiet and very personal, both for clients and the staff that work there. Q: What is your relationship like with clients? A: I enjoy our clients and have a great working relationship with them which builds their trust in me and the office. Q: Describe the training you received when you started. A: The training was extensive and in depth. There is a lot of good support for new BOAs.
