Frequently Asked Questions As much as we'd like to, we probably won't be able to answer every question you have about headquarters opportunities at Edward Jones here on our website. However, we have compiled a list of the ones we feel are most commonly asked. Q: What opportunities for advancement exist for headquarters associates? A: Edward Jones believes in responsibility-based management and offers our associates multiple opportunities for personal and professional growth. We encourage our associates to grow along with us through ongoing education, training, increased responsibility and old-fashioned initiative. In addition, all open positions are made available to our associates via our internal careers website. back to top Q: What firm opportunities exist outside of Mississauga? A: Financial Advisor and Branch Office Administrator (BOA) positions are available across the country. Headquarters, Financial Adviser and BOA positions could also be available in the United States. back to top Q: What's the best way to apply for a position? A: The best way to apply is to use our online résumé process. Résumés submitted via the Edward Jones website are available to the recruiting area immediately. Mailed or faxed résumés must be processed and may not be available to our recruiters for several days. back to top Q: How do I send you a hard-copy résumé? A: Edward Jones prefers that you submit your résumé via our online résumé process. All hard-copy résumés are scanned, converted to text and loaded into our database, so a recruiter may never see your original hard-copy résumé. back to top Q: Is there a phone number I can call to speak to a recruiter about the positions available? A: Given the volume of current openings available at the firm and the number of résumés we receive each month, Edward Jones prefers that you communicate with our recruiting area via your résumé or the Contact Us form located on this site. back to top Q: I sent my résumé in, and no one has contacted me. When can I expect to be contacted by Edward Jones? A: All candidates who submit a résumé can expect to receive either an e-mail or letter of acknowledgment. If you have submitted a résumé via our website or via e-mail, an electronic acknowledgment is typically sent within 48 hours. Hard copy résumés submitted without an e-mail address take longer to be received depending on résumé processing and postal delivery. If an Edward Jones recruiter reviews your résumé and believes you might be a fit for the position you will be contacted. We are unable to personally contact everyone given the large volume of résumés we receive each month. back to top Q: How do I know if a position posted on your site is still available? A: All open positions available to external candidates are posted on our website, which is updated daily. Once they are filled, cancelled or put on hold, they are removed. If the position is posted on the website, it is still available. back to top Q: Is a high school, college or university degree required for every position at the firm? A: A degree is preferred, but not required, unless otherwise stated on the position description. back to top Q: What areas of a candidate's background do you review before they are hired? A: We are in a highly-regulated industry, so we must carefully review candidates prior to hire. The process includes fingerprinting, a background investigation and a securities license check (if applicable). back to top Q: I have an account with another securities firm. Am I allowed to keep that account? A: Associates are required to maintain any securities trading accounts at Edward Jones. You will be required to move the account to Edward Jones or close it. back to top
