Firm Leadership

Jim Weddle

Jim Weddle, Managing Partner

Jim Weddle, who began working for Edward Jones in 1976 as a part-time intern, became a Financial Advisor in Indiana where he opened the firm's 200th branch office. Jim was named a principal in 1985 and assumed responsibilities in St. Louis managing Mutual Funds Sales and Marketing. Later, as an area partner, he helped the firm grow from 250 offices to more than 1,000 along the East Coast. Jim managed all of the firm's branch offices before becoming Edward Jones' fifth managing partner in 2006.

As managing partner, Jim initiated client satisfaction surveys and the firm's focus on delivering an ideal client experience. He championed the importance of the branch office administrator (BOA) by establishing both a firm bonus for all BOAs and the BOA Managing Partner's Conference, which recognizes exceptional client service. Jim instituted a five-year planning cycle for the firm and established long-term goals with the 2020 Vision.

Community Involvement

When we say we're an active part of the communities we serve, we really mean it. Charitable organizations such as the United Way, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the American Heart Association and many others benefit from the generosity of our associates year after year. In 2016, Edward Jones became the first National Presenting Sponsor of the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. We donate, walk, ride, run and sponsor fellow associates, clients, family members and general causes. Edward Jones financial advisors take the firm's commitment to community very seriously. Many are local Chamber of Commerce presidents and members, board members, event coordinators, professional organization members - the list goes on. A dedication to community involvement is one way Edward Jones gives back to communities. Throughout each year, we do this through local food, toy and blanket drives. Below is a sample list of organizations Edward Jones takes pride in supporting:

  • United Way
  • Alzheimer's Association
  • Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
  • March of Dimes Foundation
  • American Heart Association
  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
  • Arts & Education (St. Louis)
  • Toys for Tots
  • American Red Cross

We serve where we work

We value the communities where we work, so we're committed to giving back. You'll find our associates serving clients in our offices, but you'll also find us investing our time and talents to support local organizations and great causes. Many Financial Advisors are on Chambers of Commerce and serve as board members and event coordinators for local organizations, and our associates volunteer, donate and support a variety of charitable organizations.

Strategic Alliance with the Alzheimer's Association

Many of us have witnessed the devastating effects of Alzheimer's disease firsthand. That's why we're proud to serve as National Presenting Sponsor of the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. We invite you to join us in the fight to end this terrible disease.

Community Involvement - Tour-de-Ted

Tour de Ted promotes giving, firm history

Each year, branch and Home Office associates take to the road to raise funds for cancer research for the firm's annual Tour de Ted. In memory of Ted Jones, former managing partner who died from cancer, the first Tour de Ted showcased the firm's community-oriented culture while paying tribute to the history of Edward Jones. Volunteers rode the path of the original "wire" that connected Pueblo, Colo., to St. Louis, Mo., which created our branch network.

Community Involvement - Volunteer

Committed to our communities - year after year

If they choose to use it, Edward Jones offers eligible associates one paid day per calendar year to serve the community through volunteering. This Day of Caring is about associates helping communities by giving their time and energy to "lend a helping hand." There is no list of approved or recommended organizations or activities that associates must choose from; instead, associates choose a project or organization that is important to them.

Community Involvement - Habitat for Humanity

Building on dreams

When investors wanted to save for a new home, Edward Jones was there to help. Associates from Ontario, Canada, helped a local family reach its goal of home ownership in another way when they came together for the Habitat for Humanity build in Amherstburg, Ont., the first such home built in this community.

Community Involvement - School Supplies

Investing in education

Eight local Edward Jones Financial Advisors teamed up on behalf of school children, clearly demonstrating their commitment to family values. Their school supply drive brought in hundreds of classroom necessities, from notebooks and markers to tissues and cleaning wipes.

Community Involvement - Emergency Assistance

A regional effort

Sixteen Financial Advisors in Texas decided to set aside one day out of their busy schedules to give back to their community. They volunteered at the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance facility by painting offices and hallways, and sorting and tagging clothes.
