Describe your role within the firm. 
I am currently responsible for Advisory Operations, which is comprised of the Managed Account Operations department in St. Louis and the Advisory Solutions Operations department in Tempe.  Both departments support the Firm's advisory programs.  Managed Account Operations is responsible for the fee billing of all advisory programs; account opening, closing, and maintenance for UMA, MAP, & Guided Portfolios programs; and the trading & reconciliation for the UMA & MAP programs.  Advisory Solutions Operations is responsible for the ensuring timely & accurate processing of the Fund Model program, which represents over 95% of the assets in the Firm's advisory programs.  At a high level, the department supports the account servicing, model changes, trading, and transfers for the Fund Model program.


Before you came to Edward Jones, what did the name mean to you? And after you came on board?
Before joining Edward Jones, I thought Edward Jones would operate like most brokerage firms, with the exception that it was based in St. Louis rather than New York. The reality was so much better. From the moment I started with the Firm, I have been impressed with how the firm focuses on doing what is best for the client. During my career, I have seen numerous examples of this, as well as the firm's commitment and care of its associates. The people at Edward Jones are fantastic and really care about helping others succeed.

How do you see your future at Edward Jones unfolding?
I hope to continue to see my responsibilities grow, as well as my contributions to the firm. When I am challenged and given additional responsibilities, it motivates me and makes me feel valued.

What has the firm's growth meant for leadership opportunities?
As the firm has continued to grow, it has created opportunities for the associates and leaders in the firm to grow their responsibilities as well. This includes the creation of additional leadership roles and more technical roles for those interested in that career path.

Do you feel there are opportunities for advancement and greater income potential at Edward Jones?
Yes. With the continued growth of the firm, more and more opportunities become available for people to increase their responsibilities and advance in their career. As responsibilities increase, so does the potential for greater income. While Edward Jones is not the highest paying firm, it is competitive, particularly when you look at the overall compensation and benefits the firm offers, which includes a great work environment & fantastic people.

There are very few offices at Edward Jones, with nearly all the firm's leaders located in cubicles. What does this structure mean to you? 
Edward Jones is a partnership both in structure and in practice. To me, having nearly all of the Firm's leaders located in cubicles is just one example of how the firm values and embraces working together in partnership. The cubicles lend to a more open and inclusive environment and promotes an open door-policy between leaders and associates.
