Field Support At Edward Jones, we believe that the best way to serve our clients is by meeting with them face-to-face and building long-term relationships with them. This is why we do business from single-adviser branch offices located in the communities where our clients live and work. Although ideal for client service, a network of widespread Financial Advisers can create unique challenges when it comes to training, encouraging and advancing our people. To address this, we have established headquarters in every country in which we do business and a comprehensive regional support system for all Financial Advisers. A Personal Assistant Who Works Only For You Our headquarters recruiting team will help you hire your own full-time assistant and Edward Jones will pay his or her salary and benefits and provide training. Your assistant will handle service and administration issues, freeing you up to concentrate on the crucial tasks of advising clients and growing the business. You and your assistant will work as a team. Over the years, our clients have often expressed how enjoyable and helpful they find our branch office assistants to be. Known for their welcoming manner and passion for helping people, they assist clients with real needs. They're trained in the field and are responsible for keeping up to date with the firm's administrative and service goals. They can set up appointments and answer questions regarding clients' account statements. And they're trained to do it all with a level of professionalism and personal care that every client deserves. Regional Support When you join Edward Jones, you will be assigned to a region and introduced to your regional leader. Assigned by the firm's senior managers, the regional leader is a highly successful well-respected, veteran Financial Adviser who volunteers his or her time to advance the overall health and growth of their region. This includes overseeing the acclimation of new Financial Advisers to Edward Jones as well as coordinating regional events and meetings where Financial Advisers come together to share ideas and encouragement and learn from everyone’s successes. As an individual Financial Adviser, you do not report to your regional leader. They are not regional managers. They are fellow Financial Advisers, who, like you, are committed to running their own ethical, profitable and professional business. Many regional events at Edward Jones include spouses and family. Financial Advisers and their families often meet for both work-related events and non-work-related gatherings such as summer picnics and holiday celebrations. Mentors The Edward Jones culture is unique in the financial services industry. Financial Advisers here do not feel in direct competition with each other. In fact, the opposite is true. Everyone here works for others to succeed because success for one leads to success for all. Soon after you are hired, you will be matched up with established veterans from your region who volunteer their time to work with you and assist you throughout your initial training and beyond. Typically, a single Financial Adviser will emerge as your mentor – a role that becomes more of a lifetime position because the two people involved oftentimes become lasting friends. In your first few months, you may spend considerable time in your mentor’s branch office learning and observing how he or she does business. New Financial Adviser Support Specialists Support specialists are part of a team of regional veteran Financial Advisers who call upon their years of experience and acquired industry and Edward Jones knowledge to assist, support, and advise you as you continue to grow your business to the next level. Typically, you can expect to meet with your support specialist(s) at least once a month, and they are always accessible via telephone and e-mail.
