Training Tailored to You

When you join Edward Jones, you will undergo initial training customised to your background and level of experience. This tailored training is designed to help you get your Edward Jones business up and running as quickly as possible. The following outline gives you a good idea of what you can expect initially.

Study for Success – Nine Weeks – Home/London

  • To become qualified as a Stockbroker as well as a Financial Adviser, you need to pass the Securities Institute Level 3 Certificate in Investments (Securities) also known as the CII (S). 
  • During this you are provided with comprehensive reading materials, practice tests, classroom review sessions and a laptop computer with CD-Rom and Internet access to specialised learning materials. 
  • Edward Jones will pay you to study, so there is no loss of earnings during this period but requires a commitment to at least 50 hours of study per week.

Experienced Financial Adviser Workshop 1 – One Week – London 

  • Study subjects such as firm history, client needs and investments as well as the client creation and development process. 
  • Gain authorisation in: estate planning, protection and retirement products, capital investment bonds (CIBs), funds and learn account and trade processing.

Market Research – Three to Four Weeks – Your Market

  • Identify and contact clients/prospects and record in your Contact Management System.
  • Write business in authorised products identify and contact clients/prospects and record in your Contact Management System.

Experienced Financial Adviser Workshop 2 – Four Days – London

  • Learn under the guidance of an experienced, successful Financial Adviser. 
  • Learn additional sales tools and complete investment assessments, review business plans and gain authorisation in Equities and Corporate Bonds.
