Q: What is your position title?
A: I am a Senior Recruiting and Hiring Specialist.

Q: Describe your role within the firm.
A: I have specific responsibility for recruiting experienced financial advisers to Edward Jones.

Q: Describe how your division contributes to the firm's success.
A: I work to hire suitable candidates that will stay with the firm and contribute to healthy growth at Edward Jones.

Q: What year did you start at Edward Jones? What year did you start in your current position?
A: I came to the firm in 2002 and have been in my current position since 2006.

Q: What did you do prior to joining Edward Jones?
A: I had worked in Financial Services for 20 years in various sales and management roles.

Q: Are there any memorable experiences, perhaps helping a Financial Adviser or BOA, you’d like to share that encapsulate or typify what it’s like to work for Edward Jones?
A: There literally are so many – but if I had to choose one it would be passing a sales idea to a Financial Advisor that I had learned from another, very successful Financial Adviser.

Q: Describe the culture at Edward Jones and how it’s different from your previous job. What is unique?
A: The difference is simple. It’s a willingness of everyone to help each other, share ideas and success stories.

Q: What qualities do you think a person needs to have to succeed in the head office environment?
A: To be successful at the head office, you must understand the important role that our Financial Advisers have with their clients and what that means to the success of Edward Jones. It is helpful to be willing to become a 'team player' and to help each other.

Q: There are very few offices at Edward Jones, with nearly all the firm's leaders located in cubicles. What does this structure mean to you?
A: To me, it demonstrates the openness of Edward Jones. There is no 'us and them' culture within the company.

Q: How has the firm supported your professional growth via training opportunities?
A: The company has demonstrated their commitment to my ongoing training & development by allowing me the opportunity to attend leadership courses such as Competitive Strategies in Massachusetts and a Peter Drucker management course in California.

Q: Describe the training you received when you started.
A: I had full training in securities. They assisted me in gaining Stockbroker qualifications. I also went through all of the new Financial Adviser training programs allowing me a full understanding of the role before I started working with our financial advisers.
