Associate Relations – Resolution Team This department assumes responsibility for interpreting and applying the firm’s policies, culture and business practices via our branch offices thereby aligning Human Resource practices with all business objectives. Other responsibilities include counseling associates and leaders, acting as resource concerning questions about sexual harassment, discrimination, conflict resolution, and written associate discipline and terminations. Key Qualifications Include:
- Previous related experience
- Working knowledge of employment law
- Superior customer service abilities
- Strong analytical, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Ability to conduct associate investigations and recommend resolutions
- HR certifications preferred
Associate Relations – Service Team As an HR Generalist working in this department, you’ll act as the first point of contact for all general HR questions and concerns. Typical issues include: Health Benefits; 401K/Profit Sharing; Recruiting; Compensation; Performance Management; and Clarification of Firm Policies and Procedures. You could also serve as resource for firm associates with security concerns or situations as well as for those needing assistance due to a disaster (preparation or recovery). Key Qualifications Include:
- An HR Generalist background

Benefits Associates in this department oversee the health and insurance programs offered to firm associates, administer all leaves of absence, and answer complex questions/resolve issues regarding medical dental, disability and life insurance, spending accounts, FMLA, state leave regulations, and COBRA. Key Qualifications Include:
- Must be knowledgeable of applicable federal benefit regulations, welfare benefit programs and/or FMLA and state leave regulations
- Excellent customer service abilities
- Ability to analyze and apply individual facts and circumstances to regulations and/or appropriate firm policies
Compensation Compensation associates design and implement compensation programs, conduct market analysis in order to maintain a competitive pay position, and recommend salary structure adjustments and merit increase guidelines. Other duties include administering trimester bonus program and consulting with firm leaders on compensation issues. Key Qualifications Include:
- Knowledge of compensation practices, theories and laws
- Strong math and analytic abilities including regression analysis
- Spreadsheet and database experience
- Compensation certification preferred
Headquarters HR Support Associates in this department are located in their respective business unit and proactively work with both division leadership and HR functional areas ensuring leader and associate training and development, leadership succession planning, correct organizational structure and design, counseling of leaders and associates with questions related to recruiting, performance reviews, compensation changes, policy clarification for issue resolution, and helping the organization continually cope with change. They also serve as the initial contact regarding associate relations issues including fact finding and conflict resolution. Key Qualifications Include:

HR Records Management This department processes all documents related to hires, rehires and reinstatements, as well as oversees processing pay changes, transfers, status changes, promotions, demotions, terminations, leaves of absence, address changes, personal information changes, and reorganization/department changes for current headquarters associates and field associates. Key Qualifications Include:

HR Systems Management HR Systems Management collects, validates for accuracy, and makes available quality Human Resource data through the automation of business solutions leveraging technology deployed by the Human Resources Systems Management team. Key Qualifications Include:

- HRMS system knowledge
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge of Crystal and Peoplesoft Query preferred
Leadership Development & Continuity Planning Associates in this department identify and develop leadership talent in order to meet the growth objectives of the firm. They also review the future business needs and related talent needs (identification of talent, discussion of development, follow-up on status of pool or bench) with senior leaders, and identify and give feedback on strengths to leverage any areas of development. Key Qualifications Include:
- Knowledge of succession planning
- Strong familiarity with leadership development
- Well versed in assessment principles
- Knowledge of coaching & development principles
- Experience with succession planning systems
- Advanced degree preferred
Learning & Organization Effectiveness This department assumes responsibility for successfully on-boarding new associates and educating them on our mission, values and culture as well as creating and delivering a comprehensive development framework, curriculum and supporting tools and resources to build leaders’ and associates’ capabilities to meet firm objectives. Key Qualifications Include:
- Experience in leadership & professional development curriculum design
- Experience with instructional design methodology
- Experience in coaching others on theories, techniques and appropriate applications of interventions used for performance improvement
- Diagnostic and measurement experience (e.g., statistics, Kirkpatrick’s levels of evaluation, etc.)
- Experience in conducting need/gap analyses and proposing solutions
- Knowledge of business process improvement/project management concepts and methodologies
- Group facilitation and presentation skills
- Experience in multimedia learning

Profit Sharing/401K The HR Profit Sharing department is responsible for the firm's associate retirement plans including the US Edward D. Jones Profit Sharing & Deferred Compensation Plan, the Canadian Group RRSP and DPSP and the UK Pension Scheme. This department also administers the firm's Tuition Reimbursement benefit. Key Qualifications Include:
- Knowledge of global retirement plan benefits
- PeopleSoft experience preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel

- Ability to interact with a variety of people including current associates, former associates and various outsource providers
Headquarters Recruiting This department oversees the recruitment, hiring and placement of new associates for home office opportunities. Key Qualifications Include:
