Q: Describe your role within the firm.
A: I work in the Operations division in the Insurance Services department. I work with several of the teams to insure the operations mission of delivering customers accurate, timely and understandable information, in partnership with Branch offices.

Q: Describe how your division contributes to the firm's success.
A: The Operations division supports the branches with the tools and support to help the Financial Advisors assist clients achieving their financial goals.

Q: What year did you start at Edward Jones? What year did you start in your current position?
A: I started April 2002 and left Edward Jones February 2003 and then came back November 2004 to now. My current position started January 2006.

Q: What did you do prior to joining Edward Jones?
A: I did sales for different employers, worked as an Event Coordinator, Production Coordinator, and Retail Manager.

Q: Are there any memorable experiences you’d like to share that encapsulate or typify what it’s like to work for Edward Jones?
A: I have had many different leaders in my career so far. There have been leaders that truly care about me and my development. It is a great feeling to have someone to support you and guide you.

Q: Describe the culture at Edward Jones and how it’s different from your previous job. What is unique?
A: Edward Jones is definitely a different environment than most companies. Responsibility Based Management encourages associates to take control of their career and decide where they want to go. It is a great company that allows associates to grow any way the person chooses. They allow associates to move from one department to another with ease.

Q: One area Edward Jones prides itself is enabling our associates to maintain a strong work-life balance. How does this approach impact you?
A: Edward Jones recognizes our associate's life outside of work is very important. They are flexible with hours and works with associates try to create a situation that would best suite their needs.

Q: What does the firm being a partnership mean to you?
A: The Partnership makes the companies success more tangible and more real. If I do a good job, my department does a good job, my division does a good job and that will enable the Financial Advisors to do a good job, ultimately leading to better performance of the firm.

Q: What qualities do you think a person needs to have to succeed in the home office environment?
A: If you have drive, excellent work ethic, patience, flexibility, accuracy and friendliness you will succeed at the home office.

Q: There are very few offices at Edward Jones, with nearly all the firm's leaders located in cubical. What does this structure mean to you?
A: Not having offices makes the environment more open. Communication is encouraged by not have walls to block each associate.

Q: How has the firm supported your professional growth via training opportunities?
A: I have been able to participate in a lot of different classes, even outside of the company. They have also allowed me to learn more about different departments.

Q: What has the firm's growth meant for leadership opportunities?
A: Growth equals more associates which equals more opportunities for leadership. I feel that our leaders are vital to creating a sound team environment. We have a lot of excellent leaders that inspire associates to be the best they can be. Our leaders are not just leading the process they are leading people in fulfilling their full potential.
