Q: Describe your role within the firm.
A: I am primarily responsible for assisting the Trades area providing leadership related to technical aspects pertaining to systems development and design, tools, best practices and system standards.

Q: Describe how your division contributes to the firm's success.
A: We provide automated tools to assist the firm. These tools make everyone's job easier by putting key information at each associates fingertips.

Q: What year did you start at Edward Jones? What year did you start in your current position?
A: I started with the firm in 1991 and have been in my current position since 2003.

Q: What did you do prior to joining Edward Jones?
A: Prior to Edward Jones I worked as a programmer analyst at McDonald Douglas, primarily on their health systems.

Q: Are there any memorable experiences you’d like to share that encapsulate or typify what it’s like to work for Edward Jones?
A: I have had the opportunity to work on deploying systems that impact the business areas including Roth IRA conversion process, converting customer statements to optical for Financial Advisor viewing and the Equity Commission project.

Q: Describe the culture at Edward Jones and how it’s different from your previous job. What is unique?
A: Edward Jones is a fast growing company facilitating the opportunity to work on a variety of things. This provides associates with a flexible work environment that is family oriented.

Q: What does the firm being a partnership mean to you?
A: The partnership option is unique feature to Edward Jones. The limited partnership allows a little more financial freedom toward retirement. Also, being a partnership puts a different perspective on your attitude toward work, an 'ownership' attitude.

Q: Do you feel there are opportunities for advancement and greater income potential at Edward Jones?
A: There are many growth opportunities available for associates that want to pursue them.

Q: What qualities do you think a person needs to have to succeed in the home office environment?
A: A person needs a 'positive, can do' attitude.

Q: How do you see your future at Edward Jones unfolding?
A: I will have opportunities to work on projects that will have a great impact to the firm.

Q: There are very few offices at Edward Jones, with nearly all the firm's leaders located in cubicals. What does this structure mean to you?
A: Our office structure provides an open environment that facilitates ideas, suggestions and work.

Q: How has the firm supported your professional growth via training opportunities?
A: Edward Jones provides formal training; however, on the job training helped me to become a DBA at Edward Jones and expanded my career opportunities.
