Q: Describe your role within the firm.
A: I handle reconciliation of all Mutual Fund Sells and SWPS from the Fund Companies versus our clients, reconciliation of the wired money in and out of the mutual fund areas versus the Fund Companies and Omnibus reconciliation of American Funds versus Surpas (our clients).

Q: Describe how your division contributes to the firm's success.
A: We deal with verification of information and correct errors on Mutual Funds for client satisfaction. We also verify that money in and out of the firm is in balance for accuracy on the client's end and the firm's. This creates client satisfaction.

Q: What year did you start at Edward Jones? What year did you start in your current position?
A: I came to the firm in 2001 and have been in this position since 2005.

Q: What did you do prior to joining Edward Jones?
A: Prior to Edward Jones I was in General Ledger Reconciliation at Desert Schools Federal Credit Union.

Q: Describe the culture at Edward Jones and how it’s different from your previous job. What is unique?
A: Edward Jones is big on Responsibility-Based Management. There is not any micro-management and you can create your own self-development plan. The firm is flexible and laid-back. If you work hard you will be respected.

Q: One area Edward Jones prides itself is enabling associates to maintain a strong work-life balance. How does this approach impact you?
A: It affects everyone very much. If something comes up, leaders will work with you. If you need to make a slight schedule change, they will try to be accommodating to help you out. Plus, if an associate is happy outside of work, they will be happier at work. It makes you proud to work where you do and give back to the company.

Q: What does the firm being a partnership mean to you?
A: It means that they think highly of every associate. It also makes you feel proud to be able to own part of the company. It urges you to want to help the company succeed even more.

Q: What qualities do you think a person needs to have to succeed in the home office environment?
A: Each associate should be highly motivated to please our clients, hard-working and a good communicator.

Q: How do you see your future at Edward Jones unfolding?
A: I like to take one day at a time, but possibly a Team Leader on to a Department Leader. At Edward Jones, if you want it, you can work to get it.

Q: There are very few offices at Edward Jones, with nearly all the firm's leaders located in cubicles. What does this structure mean to you?
A: The structure makes you really feel the open door policy for communication. Also, it gives the feeling that nobody is too important for anyone. We are all working together for the clients.

Q: What has the firm's growth meant for leadership opportunities?
A: There are a lot of opportunities considering the expansion in Tempe. The more departments that come to Tempe, the more buildings, associates, and ultimately more leadership opportunities become available.
