Q: Describe your role within the firm?
A: My role within the firm is to hire our Financial Advisors.

Q: Describe how your division contributes to the firm's success.
A: The Sales Hiring and Training Division contributes greatly to our firm's success because my division hires and trains the best qualified individuals to be Financial Advisors. Our Financial Advisors provide investment advice and services through a network of single-broker branch offices. The branch offices that our Financial Advisors operate are the ONLY profit center for our firm. Therefore, my division's contribution to Edward Jones is immeasurable.

Q: What year did you start at Edward Jones? What year did you start in your current position?
A: I started with Edward Jones in 2002. I started my current position in 2004.

Q: What did you do prior to joining Edward Jones?
A: Prior to joining Edward Jones, I attended college full-time and worked for the State of Illinois.

Q: Describe the culture at Edward Jones and how it’s different from your previous job. What is unique?
A: The culture here at Edward Jones is phenomenal! We firmly believe in doing what's right for the clients and each other and this differentiates Edward Jones from any other job that I have had previously.

Q: One area Edward Jones prides itself is enabling associates to maintain a strong work-life balance. How does this approach impact you?
A: This approach impacts me greatly because I am actively involved with a number of different volunteer/community organizations. Therefore, it is very important to me to be able to balance both my work and home life. So fortunately for me I work for a firm that supports me in all of my endeavors.

Q: What does the firm being a partnership mean to you?
A: To me, the partnership structure here at Edward Jones means that everyday I get the opportunity to share the challenges and reap the rewards that come with helping our clients achieve their long-term financial goals.

Q: Before you came to Edward Jones, what did the name mean to you? And after you came on board?
A: Before I came to Edward Jones, I really did not know much about the firm. However, I now know that Edward Jones is truly the "best place to work."

Q: Articulate the spirit of volunteerism that exists at Jones. How have you been involved and what was that experience like?
A: Here at Edward Jones we eat, sleep, and breathe volunteerism because it coincides with our firm's philosophy which is "service to the individual is of the utmost importance." I have been involved with several internal promotional events here at Edward Jones and the experience has fantastic! I get the chance to congratulate and motivate our Financial Advisors and hear wonderful stories about how they have serviced their clients.

Q: What qualities do you think a person needs to have to succeed in the home office environment?
A: I think that some of the qualities that a person needs to be successful in the home office environment are a "can-do" attitude, being results oriented, taking initiative, going above and beyond, and being flexible.

Q: How do you see your future at Edward Jones unfolding?
A: I see my future here at Edward Jones growing and evolving as I grow and evolve as an individual.

Q: As you go through your daily activities, how do you know you’ve achieved success at Edward Jones?
A: In my opinion, success is very individualistic. Therefore, I feel that I have been successful if I am going above and beyond what is expected of me.

Q: How has the firm supported your professional growth via training opportunities?
A: The firm has supported my professional growth via training opportunities by providing and designing training classes and tutorials that allow me to further deepen my knowledge and skill set.

Q: Describe the training you received when you started.
A: I have done cross-training in other areas of the firm, job shadowing, attended various training classes, and worked on several projects designed to improve the firm.
