Q: Describe how your division contributes to the firm's success. A: We ensure all mutual fund processing for our Surpas (clients) funds goes smoothly. Q: What year did you start at Edward Jones? What year did you start in your current position? A: I started at Edward Jones in 2002, I started my current position in 2005. Q: What did you do prior to joining Edward Jones? A: Before I came to Edward Jones I worked at two other firm's within the industry. Q: Describe the culture at Edward Jones and how it’s different from your previous job. What is unique? A: The biggest differences between Edward Jones and my previous employers are the autonomy given to complete your job and respect for work-life balance. Q: What does the firm being a partnership mean to you? A: It means that I get to share in the profitability of the firm and as a result I am more aware of how my decisions impact the firm. Q: What qualities do you think a person needs to have to succeed in the home office environment? A: I think a person needs to have honesty, integrity and the ability to work with and get along with others. Q: There are very few offices at Edward Jones, with nearly all the firm's leaders located in cubicles. What does this structure mean to you? A: Our office structure allows associates better access to leaders and enables both leaders and associates to be more interactive. Q: What has the firm's growth meant for leadership opportunities? A: Many of the people that started around the time I did have progressed to leadership roles, including myself, so the growth has meant the number of leadership opportunities has increased.
