Q: Describe your role within the firm.
A: I handle Unix related hotlines that impact day-to-day operations.

Q: Describe how your division contributes to the firm's success.
A: We are the center point of IS and first line of defense against hotlines or situational alerts.

Q: What year did you start at Edward Jones? What year did you start in your current position?
A: I started my career at Edward Jones in 2002.

Q: What did you do prior to joining Edward Jones?
A: Before Edward Jones I worked as a contractor for Tri-Tek/CBIZ.

Q: Describe the culture at Edward Jones and how it’s different from your previous job. What is unique?
A: Edward Jones is very helpful and they always want you to succeed. The culture is for achievement and not failure. At other companies you worry more about not making mistakes whereas here you feel that you can learn and succeed by proving yourself.

Q: One area Edward Jones prides itself is enabling associates to maintain a strong work-life balance. How does this approach impact you?
A: Having work and life in balance is important to me. Edward Jones always ensures that my family comes first and I always make an extra effort to help the firm in return because I feel like they care.

Q: Before you came to Edward Jones, what did the name mean to you? And after you came on board?
A: Edward Jones was just a company who invested but now it’s a family to me.

Q: Articulate the spirit of volunteerism that exists at Jones. How have you been involved and what was that experience like?
A: Everyone is very helpful. I myself have volunteered in the United Way and our Associates Activity Committee.

Q: Do you feel there are opportunities for advancement and greater income potential at Edward Jones?
A: Advancement and opportunities for greater income at Edward Jones is good. The more you put the more you can succeed.

Q: Do you feel you are rewarded for taking initiative and “going the extra mile” at Edward Jones?
A: If you go the extra mile Edward Jones is very good at identifying and rewarding you. It motivates you to do it over again.

Q: What qualities do you think a person needs to have to succeed in the home office environment?
A: I think if you are self motivated, a hard worker and able to work within the guidelines you'll be very successful at Edward Jones.

Q: As you go through your daily activities, how do you know you've achieved success at Edward Jones?
A: I know I've been successful when my ideas are being used or when I prevent an issue before it unfolded.

Q: In terms of ongoing training, are you able to use either internal or external continuing education to continue to grow your career at Edward Jones?
A: We have various resources to improve ourselves. If you work hard then you can go as far as you want.

Q: What has the firm's growth meant for leadership opportunities?
A: It means that we are doing things the right way. Growth means opportunity to grow and advance.
