[Text] Chidu Subbiah – Senior Program/Analyst
[Chidu] My name is Chidu Subbiah. I work for Edward Jones, in their IS department. I am a senior program analyst.
[Chidu] Our team mostly interacts with the financial advisors. We’re developing applications for them.
[Chidu] A subject matter expert works on the full life-cycle of the project from initiation; from requirements gathering; to design, to coding, to testing, to delivering it to the client. So you interact with the business users on a day-to-day basis, you interact with your fellow team members. You interact with a lot of consultants. You are one of the key persons on the project.
[Chidu] I’ve had the opportunity to become a tech-lead really fast here. You get the feeling you can succeed here. Everybody around you wants you to succeed. And that’s what I value most here.
[Chidu] Here a project is not done for the sake of doing it, there is a deadline, but it’s more important to get it right. The business users are intimately involved with the development of the final product. You get an opportunity to actually test in the production like environment with real data. At the end of the day it helps you get it right.
[Chidu] It’s about the people here. I know my team has my back and I tend to pay it forward because of all the help I am getting from all the other teams.
