Base Salary
We know this, because we regularly assess it.
We help you secure your financial future with a compensation program that rewards you based on the success of the firm – and your individual performance.
Firm Trimester Bonus
Our firm trimester bonus program is flexible.
It’s driven by the profitability of our branch teams – expanding in strong markets and contracting in leaner times. While there is no guarantee our associates will get bonuses in every trimester, they can feel confident in their job security.
Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (Group RRSP) and a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP)
The Edward Jones retirement plan consists of two parts: A Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (Group RRSP) and a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP). And we put the emphasis on profit sharing – a firm contribution as a percentage of your paid compensation made to your account annually on a pre-tax basis.
When combined, the total contribution of both the profit sharing and the Group RRSP match has averaged nearly 5% of the typical associate’s salary over the past 10 years – much higher than the most common employer match of just 3%.

Benefit Offerings
Edward Jones offers full-time associates access to a comprehensive and affordable benefit plan that encourages you and your family’s well-being, limits your financial exposure and gives you control over how you spend your health care dollars. We make a significant investment in subsidizing health and wellness benefits for associates, paying for the majority of premium rates and providing access to discounted services through our health plan vendors.
Wellness Program
Our robust wellness program provides tools and resources to help you and your family get active and get healthy, including:
Our response during the COVID-19 pandemic – and every emergency – is to protect the health and well-being of our clients, associates, families and communities.
Remote working
To reduce risk for our associates, we required home office associates at our headquarters locations to primarily work from home and temporarily restricted public access to our branch offices.
Travel
We restricted all non-essential business travel and in-person events and moved all training and firm events to virtual platforms.
Medical support and accommodations
We empowered our leaders to be flexible, especially for associates at higher risk for significant complications from the virus, for those who have family members at higher risk, or who face challenges related to childcare.
Managing through uncertainty
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to evolve, we remain committed to serving our clients through volatility and uncertainty.
We are following guidance from the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Public Health Agency of Canada as well as local health authorities, public health orders, research, experts, and our regulators. We are taking a variety of precautionary measures and we remain focused on the health and safety of our associates, their families, clients and communities.
We stand for inclusion, belonging – and the steadfast belief in our shared responsibility to celebrate what makes each of us who we are as individuals.
CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Pledge
In 2017, Edward Jones was among the first to sign the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Pledge. Managing Partner Penny Pennington reaffirmed this commitment in 2019.
A major component of the Pledge is to create and maintain forums we call Courageous Conversations, where our associates and leaders feel comfortable sharing their experiences and perspectives. Listening and engaging in honest dialogue is essential to gain awareness, address unconscious bias, and achieve greater understanding and empathy.
Inclusive Leadership
Inclusive behavior and inclusive leadership are woven into the fabric of who we are through our core values, our individual success competencies, our partnerships and our people.
They’re also woven into whether we define ourselves as successful. Each of our general partners is held accountable for creating an inclusive environment in their areas of responsibility, to ensure our focus on inclusion and diversity never wavers. Financial advisors also take on inclusion leader roles in their geographic areas. They help drive the firm’s inclusion and diversity strategy by developing a tailored plan which supports the growth, performance, engagement and leadership development of women and diverse financial advisors within their specific markets.
Business Resource Groups
A Business Resource Group (BRG) is comprised of associates and leaders who volunteer to support our inclusion and diversity efforts.
Edward Jones has 15 BRGs in the U.S. and Canada, including the Black/African American, LGBT+ and Young Professionals BRGs. Members regularly meet to cultivate relationships, generate ideas, and develop strategies to build and retain an inclusive workforce. Our BRGs are inclusive by definition. All associates are invited and welcome to join any BRG, regardless of race, gender or background. Everyone has ideas to add, experiences to share and lessons learned that could add value.
I&D Mentoring Program
Our I&D Mentoring Program is a resource for the professional and personal growth of all associates and helps create relationships across all dimensions of diversity.
It is based in the firm’s core values, strong culture of volunteerism, our partnership and responsibility-based management. The program strives to:
HRC Corporate Equality Index
In the US, we received a score of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index, the benchmarking survey and report that measures corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality.

Nearly 100 years of putting clients first and treating associates fairly from our beginnings in the US.
Understanding Edward Jones requires understanding our history.
Nearly 100 years of putting clients first and treating associates fairly from our beginnings in the US.
In 1922, Edward D. Jones Sr. established Edward D. Jones and Co., built on a simple principle – treat clients and associates fairly – that has stood the test of time and guides our transformation into the future. Our “share the work-share the rewards” approach to compensating associates, and an investment philosophy that takes a long-term view of success.
