A place where you can thrive.
What does diversity, equity and inclusion look like at Edward Jones? It means, no matter who you are or what your circumstance is, you can see yourself here — and thrive. It has real-world implications for our organization — and the diversity of experience, talent and perspectives it embodies.
How we define Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Diversity
We define diversity as all the multiple dimensions of identity which make you uniquely you. It’s what makes up the story of who you are and informs the perspectives you bring to your professional relationships with clients and colleagues. And it is this collection of distinct backgrounds and authentic experiences that will help us grow even stronger.
Equity
Equity is often confused for equality which is when we treat all individuals the same way. But when it comes to equity at Edward Jones, we focus on ensuring everyone has what they need to reach their individual potential. Accommodating individual needs through tailored professional development, training, mentoring and other resources to help enable their success.
Inclusion
When diversity and equity intersect, we create true inclusion or a place where everyone feels like they belong— clients and colleagues alike. A space where people feel seen, heard, respected, valued and understood. Where all individuals feel comfortable being their authentic selves, and where all are empowered to contribute.
How we hold ourselves accountable
Different perspectives make for better business and Edward Jones is truly for all – regardless of background or demographics. We have underscored this importance by setting ambitious representation goals to increase the number of people of color and women among leadership and financial advisors in the U.S. and Canada by the end of 2025:
- 20% people of color and gender parity among leaders in our U.S. and Canada headquarters.
- 15% people of color and 40% women among U.S. and Canadian home office general partners
- 15% people of color and 30% women among U.S. and Canadian financial advisors
At Edward Jones, we are anchored by our purpose: To partner for positive impact to improve the lives of our clients and colleagues and, together, better our communities and society. DEI isn’t new at Edward Jones.
Long before diversity, equity and inclusion were ubiquitous terms in our society, these concepts were embedded in our business model and in our core values: our clients’ interests come first, we value working in partnership, and we value and respect individuals and their contributions. Our longstanding commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is also rooted in Ted Jones’ (our second Managing Partner) vision to bring Wall Street to Main Street in rural communities because they were underserved populations who didn’t have good access to the financial markets. Today, we have branch offices covering more than 68% of U.S. counties and serving a rich mosaic of more than 8 million clients.

“I have the freedom to show up authentically.”
Welcome to a community where you are seen and heard — and your background and opinions are valued. Some of our associates are comfortable bringing the entirety of who they are to the workspace. Others prefer to draw a more distinct line between their professional and personal selves, and we respect that. No matter how you choose to show up, pull up a chair and take a seat. We value you for who you are.
