Fortune Magazine: Edward Jones Named One of the World’s Most Admired Companies

Edward Jones has been named to Fortune magazine’s 2024 list of the World’s Most Admired Companies™, a recognition of the most respected and reputable companies globally. The firm ranked No. 5 in the Securities/Asset Management industry category and 175 overall. Positive impact manifests in a multitude of ways, including the delivery of goals-based advice to its 8 million clients across North America through the firm’s more than 19,000 financial advisors. The firm recently announced a multi-year transformation and $1 billion investment in human capital, technology infrastructure and strategic relationships, in an effort to serve its clients more completely through deep personal relationships and comprehensive planning and advice. “As a firm, we have a responsibility to bring our clients and colleagues together to positively impact others’ lives. Using nine criteria, ranging from investment value to social responsibility, they whittled down to the highest-revenue companies in each industry, a total of 645 companies across 52 industries. A survey of 3,760 executives, outside directors and industry analysts determined the top-rated companies from that pool of 645. The final list was announced in January 2024. For the 23rd consecutive year, Edward Jones has been recognized as a top training company, having been named to the 2023 Training APEX awards list by Training magazine. The award recognizes organizations worldwide that have the most successful learning and development programs. Edward Jones ranked No.14, up 10 spots from last year. Additionally, Edward Jones was recognized with a Best Practice Award for the firm’s JonesSpark program, an internal crowdsourcing tool to engage associates firmwide to help generate ideas and prioritize solutions to complex challenges. “We are intentional about investing in the learning, development and growth of our 50,000 associates,” said Suzan McDaniel, Edward Jones Chief Human Resources Officer. “From mentorship and job shadow programs to new learning platforms that help associates build life skills, our training helps all associates unleash their full potential and serve our 8 million clients – helping them achieve financially what is most important to them.” The Training APEX award evaluation process considers the success of a company’s overall training approach. Award criteria include training program and scope, budget, tuition reimbursement, infrastructure and delivery, evaluation and human resources. Edward Jones’ innovative training programs this year include: Company rankings for the Training APEX award were announced Feb. 13 at an awards gala during the 2023 Training Conference & Expo in Orlando, Fla.

Edward Jones Named a Top Workplace for Millennials

Edward Jones has been ranked No. 3 among the 100 Best Large Workplaces for Millennials in 2022 by Great Place to Work® and Fortune® magazine list (published July 2022). The firm was the highest-ranking financial services firm on the list of 100 large companies.
The survey reinforced the importance millennials place on having purpose in their work. The data as of March 15, 2022, showed that purpose represents the biggest gap between millennials and older generations. With our purpose — to partner for positive impact, to improve the lives of our clients and colleagues, and together, better our communities and society – as Edward Jones’ North Star, the firm is especially proud to be ranked on this list.
Edward Jones Financial Advisor and millennial, Alyssa Jennings, agreed with the survey findings on priorities for millennials. “Partnering with clients to help them achieve what is financially most important to them is one of many ways we live out our purpose every day,” said Jennings. “Our shared purpose enables each of us to make a meaningful impact.”
Great Place to Work based its ranking on a data-driven methodology applied to a confidential survey of more than 1 million respondents who work at Great Place to Work-certified organizations. Survey statements collectively described a great associate experience, defined as high levels of trust, respect, credibility, fairness, pride and camaraderie. Responses were compared across generations.
