After Years as a Financial Advisor, I Felt Stuck. Here is what I did about it.

I had 15 years experience, good client relationships, and a passion for helping people plan their futures. But something wasn’t clicking. Despite years in the industry, I felt like I was just ticking boxes at a big publicly traded financial institution. That meant chasing metrics and fulfilling someone else’s definition of success. I wasn’t practicing the kind of personalized, purpose-driven advice and planning I believed in. It all started to feel robotic, and I knew my clients deserved more.
It Wasn’t About What My Clients Needed
I began to realize that the priorities around me had shifted. More pressure, more sales targets, and less room for personalized financial planning and solutions that reflect clients’ unique goals. My clients’ needs were becoming more complex, but I felt like my ability to truly meet them was shrinking. That disconnect became impossible to ignore.
Talking to Experienced Advisors at Edward Jones Changed Everything
A former colleague who had joined Edward Jones stayed in regular touch with me. I couldn’t help but notice the change in him. He was energized, fulfilled, and in control of his successful practice. I Finally Feel Like I Belong
Today, I’m in the driver’s seat. My career reflects the kind of advisor I’ve always worked so hard to become. If you feel like your values or your experience aren’t being fully realized, you’re not alone. I didn’t know how much better it could be until I made the move.
