Our 10-week development program is designed to help interns perform real work in their field of study, and gain applicable experience and knowledge about the industry.
Students entering our program have diverse college backgrounds, which include, but are not limited to the following majors:
- Accounting
- Business Administration
- Computer Science
- Data Analytics/Data Science
- Economics
- Finance
- Marketing
- Political Science
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree, with Sophomore or Junior class standing
- Possess a drive to succeed with a strong interest in the financial services industry
- Excellent leadership, communication, teamwork, and service skills
- Demonstrate leadership and involvement in community or campus organizations

Accelerated Leadership Program Internship
Challenging, 10-week paid program for full-time, first-year graduate students that delivers meaningful assignments and access to senior leadership.
The Accelerated Leadership Program internship is a full time, paid program that matches your area of concentration, strengths and interest with a business need at Edward Jones. For 10 weeks you’ll have the opportunity for exposure to our unique culture and seasoned leadership team while doing challenging and meaningful work.
Program Key Features:
- Networking opportunities with peers, technical experts, and senior leadership
- Contribute to a specific business area while also gaining exposure to the organization and learning how business areas interact
- Support learning and development offerings to strengthen your core skill set for your internship
- Mentoring to provide insight into the transition from college into the professional workplace
- Speaker Series featuring senior leaders and important topics such as innovation, product review, etc.
- Capstone presentation to senior leadership
Required Qualifications
- An MBA or another relevant postgraduate degree must be obtained before starting the program
- A minimum of two semesters of a master’s program is required for the Accelerated Leadership Program internship
- 3+ years of prior work experience with a broad range of perspectives and background
- Experience in leadership and self-development
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Strategic and critical thinking skills
- Analytical skills that produce insights to drive action
- Ability to balance best interests of firm and teams while mitigating risk
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt in a changing and complex environment
- Project management skills
Associates are required to pass the SIE and Series 7 licensing during the program. Additional licensing may be required based on business area needs.

Upon successful completion of the Graduate Internship, interns will have the opportunity to apply for other opportunities throughout the firm, including our Graduate-level Accelerated Leadership Development Program. The Graduate Leadership Development Program is a two-year rotational program at Edward Jones.

Headquarters Rotational Development Program
Full-time positions for college seniors seeking experience in a variety of business areas.
Engage in meaningful work and develop a broad understanding of our firm through this distinctive program.
For students in their senior year of college, the Rotational Development Program (RDP) offers a 14-month journey that combines rotational assignments, mentoring, and coaching. The RDP is designed to equip associates with a wide range of skills and experiences, preparing them for future roles. Participants will rotate through various roles within their assigned division and complete an additional rotation outside of their division.
Associates are required to pass the SIE and Series 7 licensing during the program. Additional licensing may be required based on business area needs.
The RDP program is for students who:
- Are in your senior year of college (completing a bachelor’s degree)
- Possess a drive to succeed with a strong interest in the financial services industry
- Have excellent leadership, communication, teamwork, and service skills
- Multitask and prioritize to ensure maximum productivity
- Utilize critical thinking to challenge current processes and seek opportunities to improve
- Have a preferred major for this opportunity

Program Advisor
RDP Program Advisors are former RDP associates who offer their support to new RDP associates as they begin their career at Edward Jones. The RDP Program Advisor can serve as a mentor throughout the program to answer questions about the program itself, final placements and all RDP activities.
Career Mentor Program
As RDPs enter their fourth rotation and final placement, they will be given the opportunity to choose a Career Mentor. Career Mentors are associates who exemplify a strong and healthy work ethic. In addition, they have expressed an interest in supporting the career growth of new associates. Career mentors will:- Help new associates understand the firm’s culture, values and behaviors common to fellow Edward Jones associates
- Provide guidance for professional development and career plans
- Create awareness of and involvement in activities outside of rotations or final placement
Branch Visits
Each RDP associate is expected to visit four branch offices during the course of the program to gain a more well-rounded perspective into the experiences of a financial advisor (FA) and branch office administrator’s (BOA) experiences.Competitive Strategies
All RDP associates are invited to participate in a Competitive Strategies class. This class provides a greater understanding of the firm, our philosophy and our market share and positioning within the industry. The class generally meets once a month, with participants giving a final presentation to firm leaders.Speaker Series
The Speaker Series is an opportunity for RDP associates to hear a general partner and/or veteran associate speak about his or her area of expertise. These are informal sessions that provide insight into the functions of each division in the firm.
Financial Advisor Internship
Build real-world skills, grow your confidence and see how a client first practice operates up close. As an Edward Jones intern, you’ll be supported by a collaborative branch team, equipped with training and tools and encouraged to make a meaningful contribution from day one.
This ten-week summer internship exposes students to the daily work of a financial advisor and client support team. You’ll learn by doing – observing client interactions, supporting daily operations and sharpening your professional skills through guided training and mentorship.
The Financial Advisor internship is open to junior, senior, or first-year graduate students with a demonstrated interest in financial services, wealth management or client advising.
Qualifications include active involvement in campus organizations and activities. Proven leadership capabilities, communication skills and ability to work in a service-oriented team environment.
