We assist you with your exam preparations
When you join Edward Jones, your first assignment will be to study for your industry exams. To become registered to offer securities, state and federal laws require that all Financial Advisors pass the General Securities Registered Representative Examination (Securities Industry Essentials SIE + Series 7) and a Uniform Combined State Law Examination (Series 66). In addition, Financial Advisors must complete state insurance licensing requirements.
During onboarding, you will become a full-time associate of Edward Jones and will receive hourly compensation on a biweekly basis. This will allow you to focus on training and development as you study for your licenses and begin to learn business building strategies.
Everything you need to succeed
Our study program will provide you with:
- Comprehensive study materials and practice tests
- A study team that will monitor your progress and answer questions about the material
- Tools and resources to help you along the way
These resources cover everything you need to know to pass the SIE, Series 7, Series 66 and insurance exams
Expect a large volume of information
The financial services industry is complex and dynamic, especially in recent years after the Great Recession. Financial Advisors are expected to understand the investments that are available to investors, the regulations surrounding client suitability and the general rules of the industry.
Preparing for the SIE and Series 7 exams is challenging and must be taken very seriously. Trainees commit a minimum of 45 hours of study each week over the study period in preparation for the exam.
Additional learning opportunities
During the study period, you'll participate in distance learning sessions to help you gain industry and investment knowledge. You'll also have support and collaboration with other Financial Advisors in your community or the surrounding area.
Near the end of the onboarding period, you'll travel to the Edward Jones headquarters in St. Louis, MO or Tempe, AZ for in-person training and workshops with other Financial Advisors in training
Please Note: The training information provided is for illustrative purposes and is subject to change. Please check with your Edward Jones Talent Acquisition team member if you have specific questions about the details and timing of your training.
