Special Education teacher, assistant director of Adult Formation and executive assistant to the president of a company.
What does it take to be a successful branch office administrator at Edward Jones?
Work effectively with a financial advisor as a team, be organized and detail-oriented, take responsibility for your actions, be an active listener and have the desire to serve clients to the best of your ability by giving timely and competent assistance. I think that being a "people person" is a necessity.
What is it like to work in a two-person office?
First, honest communication is essential; and second, each person must be able to work independently but also as a team.
What kinds of things do you do every day to help the clients?
Clients are treated like good friends by my always giving detailed and personalized service with each client's best interest at heart. Sometimes though, it is just a casual conversation about family or vacations, but it can also be a caring, listening conversation when needed, letting my "smile" and concern be heard through my voice.
What kinds of things do you do every day to help your financial advisor build the business?
Working independently and with initiative using my personal strengths, staying positive and giving encouragement, and striving always for professionalism.
Describe a memorable experience with a client that encapsulates or typifies what it’s like to work for Edward Jones.
Helped a client after the death of her spouse by making it as easy as possible for her in processing the estate. Being there to listen whenever she called or needed anything. After several months had passed, she called to thank us and said that we had truly made a difference in her life during one of her most difficult times.
What kind of support do you get from the home office?
Home-office support is always there – you just have to pick up the phone.
What’s the most important part of your day as a BOA?
Assisting and visiting with clients and making sure that everything is completed in a friendly and timely manner.
